Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation: Licensing reviewed children's records and one child was missing a record of their photo.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure a record of each child's photo.

Comments

At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Licensing provided a date for addressing the contravention and is requesting a written response by May 24, 2023 advising on compliance.

At the time of the inspection the Licensee was present with 8 children.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The following resources were provided:

· Bulleting- Field Trips
· Bulletin- Summer Heat- Keeping children safe while in your care

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and the report and risk assessment were written off-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
