Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Licensing observed that the arrival and departure time has been pre-written on top of the daily attendance sheet. Licensing spoke to the manager during the inspection, and determined that if a child arrives or leaves the facility early, that this information is not documented. The manager said that there have been times children would be picked up by their parents early at the facility.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that the time of arrival and departure of children are documented. The manager said that the attendance sheet will be revised to include these information.

- Continue to check the expiry date of items in the emergency supplies kit
- Emergency plan diagram being more visible
- Care plans and procedures
- Start date of each child/specific day to be included
