Introduction

A scheduled routine inspection was conducted today to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR), and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: CCFL observed that the cleaning products were kept in a cupboard that was accessible to children in the Group Child Care (School Age)
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that cleaning products are inaccessible to children.

Action to be taken by the manager: address contravention and email CCFL with your response.

As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk assessment Tool was completed and a copy was provide to the manager.

The following resources were provided:
-Reportable Incident Bulletin
-Lead in the Water and Bill 5

The requested Temporary Retention has been approved as it was found to be in the best interest of the children and did not increase risk to children in care.
