Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Cut squash was a 9C. Squash was placed on the top shelf of the cooler unit - top shelf is unable to maintain 4C or less on consistent basis.
Corrective Action(s): Cut squash is considered a potentially hazardous foods and must be stored a 4C or less to prevent the growth of pathogens and or the formation of toxins. Cut squash were relocated to the lower shelf of the cooler unit, which was at 4C

Comments

-Walk-in cooler was at 2C.
-Wall freezers was at -20C.
-Ice cream freezers were less than -18C.
-Cleaning and sanitizing carried out in 2-compartment sink. Sink plugs available and bleach available.
-Handwash station easily accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels.
-General food storage practices satisfactory. A few boxes of food were stored on the floor in the walk-in cooler. Ensure foods are stored off the floor and protected from potential contamination.
-Bulk foods are dispensed using gravity or individual scoops for each container. Ensure staff monitor the bulk area and place scoops in correct areas.
-Bulk almonds and walnuts have plastic cover to prevent potential customer contamination.
-Canned food items were within the best before dates and were in good condition. Staff routine check canned foods for their condition and best before dates.
-General sanitation good at the time of inspection.
-Pallets around the store are moved weekly for cleaning.
-Facility is serviced by a professional pest control operator.
-No signs of pests noted at the time of inspection.
-Washroom clean and well maintained.
