302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation: Facility was out of food grade sanitizer required for properly sanitizing the food contact surfaces/utensils/dishes. Bleach bottle was found empty. No sanitizer solution was present on site. Staff stated that they ran out of bleach solution 2-3 days ago.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are washed (with soap) then sanitized with an approved food grade sanitizer.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation: No paper towels were available at the hand wash station. Staff stated that they are out of paper towels.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that all hand wash station have adequate supply of hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towels.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted at the food store and the following observations were made:

- Majority of the food products sold on site are pre-packaged.
- Facility prepares Indian style paan on site for sale. Due to COVID-19, the supply of leaves is inconsistent and no leaves were available at the time of inspection. However, the staff stated that the facility stores the leaves in cooler at a temperature of 4C or less.
- Pest-proof containers were used for storing ingredients of paan.
- No scoops were stored inside the containers. Good.
- All food products were stored 6" off the floor.
- Stand-up cooler was present on site and used for storing soft drinks.
**Please repair the cooler prior to receiving any leaves to ensure that leaves are stored at a temperature of at least 4C or less.
- No visible signs of pest activity noticed at the time of inspection.
- In general, the facility was maintained in good sanitary condition.

To prepare bleach solution, add 1 tsp of bleach solution in 1L of water.

NOTE - A follow-up inspection will be conducted to ensure compliance.
