Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No sanitizer available for the raw seafood contact surface (weight scale and packaging machine)
Corrective Action(s): Mix 1/2 tsp bleach per 1 liter of water and keep in a spray bottle at the seafood packaging area. Ensure to sanitize the surfaces every 2-4 hours to remove bacteria.

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No paper towels available at the handwash sink. Mop was placed right beside the sink. When staff was asked where they wash hands before handling seafood, they mentioned that the use the washroom handsink. The washroom handsink is SEPARATE from the designated handsink used before handling raw seafood.
Corrective Action(s): Staff member replaced paper towels. Explained to staff member that she should be using the designated handwash sink, and to move the mop away from this sink.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Whole fish that was unpackaged observed in one of the freezers in the retail area.
Corrective Action(s): All food needs to be packaged and protected from contamination. Remove this item from the retail freezer until it is properly packaged.

Comments

Seafood is not cut/processed on site as there is no 3 compartment sink for any utensil/ware washing (previously approved). Seafood arrives in bulk, and then is individually packaged into smaller portions. There is a retail area and a warehouse/packaging area. Handsink in warehouse is available for handwashing and is stocked with liquid soap and paper towels and hot/cold running water.
