Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act(CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations(CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of practice (DoLSoP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Review of 4 staff facility files. 1 files contained no record of immunization.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure to have evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: During inspection, licensing observed there to be 4 child under 36 months in care. Licensee stated a group from another location was attending this location today to meet staffing requirements for this location. Licensee stated that they will be in compliance for age groups in care as of tomorrow.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more than that permitted in Schedule E.

Summary of Inspection:
The COVID-19 Pre-screening was conducted at the door.
During today’s inspection, there were 7 children, the manager, and 2 staff present.
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Manager is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contraventions.

The following was discussed
Updated BCCDC Guidelines were reviewed.
Cleaning and sanitization use was reviewed and discussed.
Licensing reviewed the recent renovations that occurred in March and April of this year.

Water play bulletin
Business card was given
