Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19330 - CCLR s.59(b) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (b) keep a record other than one referred to in paragraph (a) in a place from which it can be retrieved within a reasonable time, on request.
Observation: Licensing was unable to review staff records as they were not accessible during the inspection.
Licensing discussed different ways to keep record of staff documentation.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure records are available for review during an inspection.

Comments

At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Licensing will need to return for a follow-up inspection to review the staff files.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

Licensing discussed parent notification regarding foods served to children.

The information contained in the report was discussed with a staff member and the report and risk assessment were written off-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
