The following discussions were had:
· Active Supervision
· Lead in Water - more information can be found at https://www.fraserhealth.ca/health-info/health-topics/drinking-water/.
· Promoting Active Play in the program. The licensee stated that the children go outside daily for active play. Screen time is minimal.
· Temporary placements
Licensing observed the children looking at books, playing with duplo, eat a healthy snack and engaging socially. The caregiver was seen to guide the children in an active group activity time with music, movement, number and language activities, guide hand washing, practice pro social behaviors, nurture an upset child, speak in a gentle voice with the children and use positive words of encouragement (thanking them). The facility has many opportunities for all areas of development such as puzzles, dramatic play, number and letter activities and Montessori inspired materials (practical life).
