Introduction

An unscheduled Routine Inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation: During review of children's records, two of three care plans reviewed did not contain the signature of parents. The staff had signed the care plans.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure to develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child, requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
During today’s inspection, there were 23 children, and 1 staff and Manager on site.
At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to submit a corrective action plan to address the contravention.

The following was discussed:
Discussed the need for second staff to have current first aid, in the event the other staff person is not at the facility, or accessible.
Cleaning and sanitization systems were reviewed and discussed.
Discussed the new addition to the playground on the school grounds. Reviewed the height and age suitability.
