Report of Findings
Licensing received a complaint on November 6, 2020, regarding staffing, physical requirements, and hygiene.

The allegations included the following details:
- unqualified and unscreened staff working alone at the daycare
- no separte nap area for children, no area to get lunches ready
- unclean and unsafe environment

All areas of the complaint were fully investigated. Evidence was collected from interviews and records and direct observation.
Licensing determined the following contraventions:

11010 - CCLR s.13(1)A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Hazards were identified within the nap area.

11020 - CCLR s.13(2)A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: The facility was unclean at time of inspection.

11200 - CCLR s.17A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: Hazardous items were accessible to children.

12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a)A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: Staff were working at the facility without the required Criminal Record Check.

Observation: Health and Hygiene practices were not encouraged or implemented.
