Observation:
The upstairs and downstairs low temperature dishwashers had [Cl2] of 0ppm. The sanitizer bottles were empty. The [Cl2] shall be between 50-100ppm in order to kill pathogens.
Corrective Action(s):
Immediately stop using the dishwashers and replenish the sanitizer bottles. The [Cl2] shall be reading 50-100ppm. Do not rent out the kitchen until the problem is resolved.
During the inspection, chemicals were ordered and to be replenished later that afternoon. A follow-up inspection to occur to check the [Cl2].

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation:
The paper towel dispenser had fallen off the wall. Paper towel and liquid soap dispensers shall be installed adjacent to the hand sink to allow proper washing of hands.
Corrective Action(s):
Install and secure the paper towel dispenser to the wall, and ensure it is full. During the inspection, staff placed a work order for this to be completed.

315 - Refrigeration units and hot holding equipment lack accurate thermometers [s. 19(2)]
Observation:
Thermometers missing from the coolers and freezer in both kitchens. Theremometers shall be placed in each cooler and freezer unit so staff can monitor and ensure the temperatures are correct.
Corrective Action(s):
Purchase and place a thermometer in each cooler and freezer. During the inspection, staff ordered thermometers.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Cooler was 4C; freezer was -16C; no temperatures recorded daily.
- Hand sink stocked with liquid soap, paper towel, and running hot and cold water.
- General sanitation is satisfactory. A set schedule for deep cleaning all equipment, cupboards, coolers, and freezers shall be developed to ensure premises is routinely cleaned.
- No signs of pests.
- All surfaces in good working order.

A follow-up inspection to occur on Oct. 4/16 to test the dishwashers and ensure they are in working order.
