Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspection for compliance.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Upon discussion with the manager, it was mentioned that emergency drills are conducted but they have not practiced bringing emergency supplies to their secondary location.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure emergency plan sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency

Comments

At today’s inspection there were 20 children, 4 staff, 2 support workers and a practicum student present. Licensing conducted a walk through of the entire facility
At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer by December 8, 2022. The Licensing Officer will review the response.
As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed. The risk assessment includes any non-compliance identified during the routine inspection, a 3 year ‘historical’ review of the facility’s compliance and operation. This is used to determine inspection frequency.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed and written on-site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager on December 1, 2022 and a paper copy mailed to the facility.
