Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: the fire extinguisher is not labelled as to when service is required
Corrective Action(s): the director stated there is a receipt for the fire extinguisher and it will be placed on or near the extinguisher by Monday may 1,2023

HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: cloths were being used for hand washing by the children for the day
Corrective Action(s): please ensure that cloths are used only once director stated they will use paper towels until sufficient cloths can be obtained for single use
