Introduction

An unscheduled folllow up inspection to the Routine inspection was conducted.
Area of non-compliance identified at the Routine inspection were reviewed for compliance.
Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR ## RSUN-AABUWP have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12050 - CCLR s.19(1)(b) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation: (Observed during today's inspection) Licensing reviewed the staff files and found that the manager has not checked the staff's references.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the references are checked for all staff before employing them.
Date to be Corrected: October 6, 2016.
Comments

The manager stated that the staff has sent her credentials to the ECE Registry and has sent a Criminal Record Check to Criminal Record Review Agency in Victoria.
This staff may only work as a "Responsible Adult" at this time until she receives information from the ECE Registry.
As this staff does not have a CRC yet, under no circumstances is this staff to work alone with children.
The manager is reminded that complete screening is to be done before a staff can be employed.
