Introduction
An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: A heavy chalk board was observed leaning on the fence ins the outside play area
Corrective Action(s): Manager moved the chalk board out of the outdoor play area till the permanent solution to use it is in place

STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.
Corrective Action(s): Manager will ask the staff to sign the immunization record form

At today’s inspection there were 10 children, manager and two staff present. At this inspection above noted contraventions were identified.
Following was discussed:
Using of the Minor incident log book and having the bound incident log book
Amendment for the license to increase the capacity.
As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy was provided to the facility along with this report.
The Risk Assessment includes any non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year ‘historical’ review of the facility’s compliance and operation and is used to determine inspection frequency.
