Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: Licensee explained that monthly fire drills have been practiced but not recorded.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure fire drill records are recorded when implemented.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation: Licensee explained that daily attendance records have been recorded but are on a computer that is currently not on site.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure required records are kept at the facility.

Comments

At the inspection dated November 26, 2019 there were 4 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy was provided.
