Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Not Applicable
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11160 - CCLR s.16(3)(a) - A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.
Observation: It was observed that on one side of the playground, there are fence panels coming loose or fallen off of the fence. The panels are on the neighbors side, so they will not fall into the children's play area, but if the panels are pushed or moved, it would cause a hole large enough for the children to climb through. The licensee is aware of this concern and utilizes appropriate supervision practices to ensure children are kept safe and free from harm
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the entire outdoor play area is enclosed in a manner that will ensure children are free of harm
Date to be Corrected: June 26, 2019

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: 8 registration records were reviewed and it was observed that 4 records were missing the enrolment date
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure childrens records are maintained with all required information
Date to be Corrected: June 19, 2019
