Observation: Front three-door bar cooler was above 4 degrees C (measured at 6 degrees C on the left side, 6.5 degrees C in the middle, and 8 degrees C on the right side).
Corrective Action(s): Adjust, repair, or re-service the front bar cooler to maintain a temperature at or below 4 degrees C prior to re-stocking it with cold potentially hazardous food (e.g. milk creamers); Effective immediately.

Operator informed they would re-service this cooler and continue storing cold potentially hazardous food in the prep. cooler rather than in the front bar cooler in the front service area in the interim. Operator called a refrigeration repair company during the inspection and he was informed that a technician may be available by next week during the busier holiday season.

Contact the Environmental Health Officer for a follow up inspection once this front bar cooler is adjusted, re-serviced, or repaired to maintain temperatures at or below 4 degrees C; Correct within 1 month.

Observation: The front bar cooler was equipped with an inaccurate thermometer.

Comments

Follow up inspection:
-Pest control report for service date by Abell on November 22, 2022 was available. Dead cockroaches were removed and treatment was provided to target cockroaches.
-Pest control program is in place on a biweekly basis according to the Operator.
-Operator informed that they called a plumber to repair a leak from a pipe of the ice machine and prevent standing water.
-Cleaning improvements were made to the floor below the cook line and near the ice machine.
-A new storage container with an intact lid was in use for the salt.
-Raw meat was stored on the lowest shelving units in the wall cooler. Ready-to-eat food was stored on higher shelving units in the wall cooler.

The following was discussed:
-Monitor for pest activity and continue pest control measures (including the professional pest control program to apply treatment as needed to target cockroaches, sealing potential entry points, preventing breeding grounds, and preventing potential harborage areas) to eliminate cockroaches.
-Continue with regular cleaning of floor (including below cook line, dishwashing area, and other equipment) and of storage areas to prevent potential food and water sources for pests.
-Continue keeping all dry food covered in pest proof containers with tight fitting lids in storage areas.
