Comments

-Excess stock has been cleared from staff washroom
-Sanitizer solution (100-200ppm chlorine) present in buckets for use with wiping cloths on counters
-Procedures/schedule posted for staff to follow for washing and sanitizing blender jugs.
-In use scoop and spatulas stored in ice water
-Updated food safety procedures have been submitted for the addition of taiwanese pancake with the following toppings: red bean paste, prepared tuna, black tea pearls to the menu.
-Manager has now taken Foodsafe level 1 training. Confirmation of completion shown at the time of the inspection.

Specific comments: Custard powder present has 2.4g trans fat/7.9g total fat = 30% trans fat/ total fat content which exceeds allowable percentage. Product is not currently in use. Return to supplier and find alternate product which meets restriction.
Food exempt from the regulation includes:
  • Pre-packaged food with a Nutrition Facts table sold directly to the consumer without alteration
  • Food with the sole source(s) as naturally occurring trans fat (i.e. beef, sheep, lamb, bison and dairy products)
