Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Feb. 21, 2019 there were 8 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
During inspection Licensing observed children engaged in free activities which consisted of Montessori activities, working at a sensory table, creating art with hole punch/ paper and glue, working with puzzles, etc. Children then took part in a circle time before going outside for free outside play.
During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities; giving warnings before transitions periods (both verbally and with the use of picture cards) as well as assisting children with dispute resolution when needed.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
