Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP)
All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation: During inspection of the facility, antihistamine medication was found without instructions on how to administer and in what amounts to treat an allergic reaction.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure a current care plan is in place showing the course of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child in regards to an allergic reaction.

Comments

During this inspection, there were 17 children and 4 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
The Licensing Officer met with the manager and discussed the following:
