Introduction

An unscheduled inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance as per application to Licensing.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11200 - CCLR s.17 - A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation: Upon inspection of classroom 128, there were Lysol wipes and detergent pods accessible to the children.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the children do not have access to any substance that may be hazardous to their health.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated January 28, 2020 there were 22 children and 5 staff present. Licensee stated that there are approximately 50 children registered in the program. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified.Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response. Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.

Licensing discussed the importance of children not playing upon unapproved equipment.
