Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: A care card number was not obtained for two children's files.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's files are complete, including their care card number.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: A medical practitioner's information was not obtained for two children's files.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's files are complete, including a medical practitioner's information.

Comments

At this inspection there were 2 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection, the above contraventions were identified. The Manager will send Licensing a written response addressing the contraventions and Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The contents of this report was discussed with the staff and a copy was emailed on May 27, 2022. This report was written off-site at the Tri-Cities Health Protection office and time spent includes report writing.
