Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP).

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Contact information for a doctor or medical clinic was not available for three children.
Corrective Action(s): The manager said he will remind the families to provide the required information.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated March 19, 2024 there were 16 children, the manager and three staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. This report was reviewed with the manager and written off site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager.
The following were discussed:
Opening windows to ensure a flow of air in the program.
Ensuring the bleach solution is mixed correctly.
Keeping a record of when families are asked to provide information that is missing from their child's file.
