A follow-up inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- The upright cooler, storing veggies and desert pies has been removed. A replacement one is on order.
- All the clutter in the dry storage room, around the hand sink, and on upper shelves have been removed. All these areas have been cleaned.
- The two holes found in walls in the dry storage room and behind the salad assembly cooler, have been blocked with metal sheets.
- All walls and floors beneath and behind tables, equipment and coolers have been cleaned. Two staff have been brought in to just do daily cleaning.
- 5-6 mice traps found in the facility. Ensure adequate traps are placed in high activity areas to catch mice. If staff move traps, they must be placed back exactly how they were placed, to be effective in catching the mice.
- All broken or damaged utensils, cookware and/or food containers have been discarded.
- New taps have been installed on the faucet at the back prep sink.
-Discussed the results with the owner, no signature obtained due to the pandemic.
Address these concerns:
Have morning/opening staff complete an inspection of the premises to determine where new mice droppings have been found.
Have staff record (in a binder) where they are seeing new/more mice droppings. Clean up mice droppings every morning and sanitize the areas they were in.
Have the pest company technician review the binder when they arrive, so they know where new or high mice activity is happening. Therefore, more attention can be placed in these areas for trapping.
There is an opening around the gas pipe entering the floor, behind the deep fryers. Block and seal the hole with metal mesh (1/4" or smaller) or metal sheet to prevent the entry of mice.
Install new door guards on the bottom of the two front entry doors, as there are large gaps that will allow mice to enter the premises. |
