PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a few pieces of string hanging from the ceiling, and they were at the children's level in one of the infant programs. Licensing expressed concerns about entanglement. The staff member corrected this during the inspection.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation: There was no record of the yearly emergency evacuation drill that was practiced last year.
Corrective Action(s): Please keep a record of yearly emergency evacuation drills.

CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation: Licensing reviewed the attendance record for the School Age program and observed that there were multiple days this month when the group size exceeded 24 children, and there were kindergarten and/or grade 1 students present. As per Schedule E of the CCLR, there can not be more than 24 children in a program if kindergarten or grade 1 students are in care.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure compliance with Schedule E.
