Follow up conducted in response to a complaint.

Complaint details: Complainant found mould spots in dessert cup 'Ban Cup' which was bought on Nov 27 at 7pm and best before date on cup indicated Dec 29, 2023.

Findings:
- Spoke with the Person Incharge onsite regarding this particular dessert cup.
- Person Incharge stated that dessert cups are prepared onsite and stored in cooler at or below 4C.
- Best before date is set for either 5 or 7 days.
- All dessert cups past the best before dates are discarded and new desserts are stocked again.
- New stock was made on Dec 1, 2023.
- Person Incharge mentioned that food products are checked for best before dates every morning and any products closer to best before date is listed with discount.
- She stated that two coolers onsite (one being used for storing dessert cups) had leakage issues and were serviced 2 weeks ago.
- She confirmed that all potentially hazardous food stored in the coolers were discarded during that time.
- Temperature of cooler recorded at 0C during inspection.
- Food products including dessert cups were checked for any sign of mould spots. No concerns noted.
- Dessert cup in question had best before date of Dec 29, 2023 and person incharge confirmed that one of the staff made the mistake as none of the dessert cups are put on sale for more than 7 days.
- Small quantity of food products are prepared that can be sold within 5 to 7 days.

Recommendations:
- Please check the temperature of coolers regularly.
- Train staff and remind them of store policies including best before dates of certain in-house food products to avoid labelling mistakes.
