Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection to Routine Inspection #ONIR-CFUQVN was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP).

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #ONIR-CFUQVN have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISION: 14030 - CCLR s.34(2)(b) - Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon entering facility, there were 4 children awake and 1 child still napping. The manager, who is an ECE, stated that her Infant/toddler educator had left the facility to pick up some supplies. Licensing observed the manager calling the staff and their arrival back was within 10minutes of the inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that Infant/Todller ratio is maintained at all times.

Comments

At today’s inspection there were 5 children, the manager and 1 volunteer present. The second staff arrived mid-point during the inspection.
At this inspection the noted contraventions from report # ONIR-CFUQVN have been addressed. The above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance. The manager will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer by November 21, 2022. The Licensing Officer will review the response.
The contents of the inspection report were reviewed with the manager prior to being written off-site. A copy of the report will be hand delivered to the facility and reviewed with the manager on November 16, 2022.
The following was discussed with the manager;
- Safe release policy
- Replenishing emergency food supplies
- Illness policy and sanitizing procedures

- Licensing officer's business card.
