Comments

At the inspection dated January 9th 2020 there were 15 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. Two Licensing staff were present for this inspection for training purposes.
The following was discussed with the Manager:
-Potential options for restricting access to the kitchen area, the classroom door remains open to ensure adequate supervision as the staff may need to be in the kitchen area preparing snack or for general duties. Licensing discussed options of possibly installing a baby gate. Currently there is a retractable screen on the door leading to outside and the Manager mentioned this option could be a possibility.
- A staff person’s ECE is to expire soon, the Manager was aware of this.
This inspection was discussed with the Manager and staff. Due to computer issues, an arrangement was made for the report to be completed off site and mailed to the facility. The report was placed in the mail at a later date.
It was noted at review that the facility had been previously provided the "Fraser Health Licensing Child Safety Alert" and "Incident Reporting in Child Care" bulletin
Visit the CCFL website at www.fraserhealth.ca/childcare for additional resources, and links to the Legislation (CCALA and CCLR).
