Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19120 - CCLR s.57(2)(f) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (f) any medication administered to the child, including the amount and the time at which the medication was administered.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): medication was available but there was no consent and the bottle was not labeled
Corrective Action(s): licensee stated the child no longer attends and the medication was removed , it was never accessible to the children
