Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During time of inspection, one small bag of basmati rice was found underneath shelving where rice was sold.
Bag some rodent bit marks
Bag discarded by operator during time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure and continue practice of discarding foods that have been compromised with rodent and pest contamination.

Observation: Veg display coolers measuring at 7C - 10C during time of inspection
Manager informed that coolers will be changed in approximately 2 month
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that this is serviced/ repaired so that temperatures is at 4C or below at all times

302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation: 1. During time of inspection, facility had no sink plugs available for filling up sinks
- Operator informed that they use 'poly' to plugs the sinks
2. QUAT sanitizer solution (SANICIDE) was too strong, >200ppm
Corrective Action(s): 1. Ensure to purchase sink plugs so that ware washing can be done properly
- Ensure to use manual warewashing for knives
. wash with hot soapy water 2. Clean with hot clean water 3. Sanitize with 100ppm chlorine sanitizer OR 200ppm QUAT solution
2. QUAT solution must be mixed according to manufacturer's instruction.
Ensure chlorine (bleach) solution is at 100ppm chlorine concentration and QUAT solution is at 200ppm to sanitize contact surfaces

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During time of inspection, the following observations were made:
1. Liquid soap and paper towels not available at handwashing station in vegetable processing area
2. No liquid soap available in staff washroom upstairs
Corrective Action(s): - ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF LIQUID SOAP, PAPER TOWELS AND HOT/COLD RUNNING WATER MUST BE AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES AT ALL HANDWASHING STATIONS

Observation: During time of inspection, large whole squash observed to be stored on the floor of facility underneath sink in food processing area.
Operator told staff to remove squash from this area
Corrective Action(s): - NO FOODS ARE TO BE STORED ON THE FLOOR, DO NOT DO THIS
- Squash must be washed and sanitized with chlorine sanitizer solution of 100ppm
- All foods must be stored at least 6" off the ground and under not sinks

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: - One dead mouse was found in trap located in corner underneath rice bags
- Slight accumulation of droppings located by plumbing stack (hard to reach area) in front of facility
- Moderate accumulation of droppings located on top shelf where large kitchen spatulas are stored (above rice), no food products
- Significant accumulation of droppings located on empty shelving located upstairs (no food storage)
- ORKIN Pest Control Operator was on-site during time of inspection and informed that no recent captures were identified in facility
- Pest Control Operator informed that pest activity will be identified on reports whether there IS activity or NO activity
- Weather stripping on one entry door in back still has gap larger than 1/4"
Corrective Action(s): - Follow recommendations from Pest Control Operator
- REMOVE ALL DROPPINGS FROM IDENTIFIED AREAS AND CLEAN AND SANITIZE AREAS
- Continue to plugs all entry points
- Replace weather stripping to outside doors
- Thorough cleaning and increase frequency of cleaning

306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: During time of inspection, the following was observed
1. Accumulation of mildew and spillage observed on walls of walk-in cooler and in back of display cases
2. Accumulation of food debris and spillage (vegetables, spices, lentils) underneath shelving, in corners of equipment and in hard to reach areas
3. Fan covers in vegetable walk-in cooler had moderate dust accumulation
4. Walls of vegetable walk-in cooler had slight-moderate dust accumulation
Corrective Action(s): Operator informed that shelving in walk-in cooler will be changed to stainless steel, when the shelving is being replaced, operator informed that a thorough clean will be done on walls of walk-in cooler

- Ensure to remove all debris and spillage in areas noted
- Ensure that all equipment, contact surfaces in facility are maintained in sanitary condition.
- Ensure that cleaning is done thoroughly and frequency is increased
