Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: The fence in the front yard had some panels missing. The Licensee advised that a bear barged through and that the children are not using this area until this will be addressed.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the broken fence is fixed.

Comments

At this inspection, the above noted contravention was identified. Licensing provided a date for addressing the contravention and is requesting a written response by Nov 14, 2023 advising on the plan for addressing the broken fence.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and the report and risk assessment were written on-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
