Observation: Shatter guards for the light bulbs in the walk-in cooler and freezer were missing.
Corrective Action(s): Install proper shatter guards around the light bulbs to prevent potential physical contamination. Correct by: Jun 9, 2023.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One bucket of solution labelled sanitizer measured with a concentration of 0 ppm quats. Staff explained that quats sanitizer is only available in spray bottles and never stored in buckets. Staff did not know what solution was in the bucket.
Corrective Action(s): Chemicals stored in containers must be properly labelled to prevent misuse. Solution in the bucket was discarded.

Comments

Routine inspection:
- Coolers (sandwich, stand-up, beverage, walk-in) maintained at 4C or less.
- Walk-in freezer at -18C.
- Rice hot held above 60C.
- Hand washing stations provided with hot/cold running water, liquid soap and single use paper towels.
- 200 ppm quats sanitizer available in spray bottles.
- High temperature dishwasher registered 76C at plate level.
- Ice machine maintained in sanitary condition.
- Scoops were stored properly at the sandwich cooler.
- General sanitation satisfactory.
- No pest activities observed at the time.
- Only 2 weeks of temperature records available on site. Staff stated rest of the records were taken by manager for storage. Email a copy of the April temperature records to the Environmental Health Officer for review.
