Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager:
Outdoor play area: various concrete/cement pieces on the ground were accessible to the children. This poses tripping/fall hazard.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

Comments

At this inspection dated April 9, 2024 there were 7 children and the Manager present.
At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. Licensee is required to take corrective action to bring facility into compliance. The contravention noted in this report were reviewed with the Manager during today's inspection.
This a copy of inspection report and the Risk Assessment were provided today via email.

LO discussed and shared the following resources with the Manager onsite:
- Door leading to the Garage; to be inaccessible to the children
- CRC for staff and family member
- Staff files/ Student file
- Reportable incident reporting ( online )
- Emergency Supplies ( see below resource)
- Care and Supervision: i.e. Drop off and pick up routine. Parents must drop off their children at the facility's (basement) main door.
- Minor incident log
