Observation: - Rodent droppings noted in the following areas:
- Floor/ wall edges under prep table L-shape joint and behind oven.
- Area under Aquafina cooler (sandwich and beverage storage).
- Under and between island counters beside sandwich and beverage storage.
Corrective Action(s): - Remove droppings and thoroughly clean above noted areas.
- Apply 100-200 ppm chlorine bleach solution (1 tsp chlorine bleach + 1 L water) to affected areas.

- Required cleaning from the last inspection has been completed. Observed droppings may be new.
- Nesting activity is suspected under island counters and cabinets against the wall. Consult with pest control technician for best methods to access area and address potential nesting activity.
- Refer to Inspection Report DNGG-CZXPHM (dated 29-Jan-2024) for list of corrective actions and recommendations.

Comments

- Follow-Up Inspection to Inspection Report DNGG-CZXPHM (dated 29-Jan-2024).

- Required cleaning listed has been completed. Additional cleaning required (Refer to Violation Code 304 and 306).

- Operator has opted not to prepare food on-site until further measures to control, prevent, and eliminate rodent activity has been completed. All food is prepared and packaged at an approved food premises located at Simon Fraser University (8888 University Drive, Burnaby) and transported to the premises in time for meal service. Some food items (e.g. pizza) is prepared off-site and cooked on-site and served immediately. Leftovers (if any) are discarded. Time/ temperature tracking delivery/ receiving logs are maintained and appear up-to-date.
- Operator has advised that the following actions have been taken since the last inspection:
- Increased pest control monitoring to 2x/ week
- Door sweeps added or replaced to main entrance school doors
- Door sweeps replaced for cooler, freezer, and storage doors
- Holes plugged with steel wool
- Increased trap placement
- All food stored in tight-lid plastic totes
- Food prepared off-site until problem is resolved
- Additional managers assigned to this premises to assist
**Continue to work with school administration, custodian, and pest control management company to address cleaning requirements, expectations, and pest control measures.
**Address potential nesting sites in the premises and close to the premises.
**Ensure all areas are accessible for pest control service.
**Physical traps and control measures only. Use of bait is not permitted in the food premises.
