209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: White cloth noted on top of a container of kale to soak up excess moisture. The cloth in use is the same type of cloth used for wiping preparation tables.
Corrective Action(s): Wiping cloths used for cleaning should never be used for food contact. Please either use a different cloth (color/ style) for this purpose, however this is not the best food safe practice and should be avoide or use single-use paper towel.

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: Server cooler was noted with an air temperature of 9.0C.
Corrective Action(s): The only cold potentially hazardous food (a container of individual milk/ creamer) was only placed in the unit for around 1 hour or so (as per operator) and has been moved to another functioning cooler. All other food stored in this unit was not potentially hazardous - pops/ drinks.
At this time, do not store any cold potentially hazardous food in this cooler until it is serviced and able to maintain at 4.0C or below.

Observation: Missing baseboard/ hole and cracks noted on the wall between the back door and handwash station.
Corrective Action(s): Fix the wall so all area of the facility is smooth and easy to clean and sanitize.

Routine inspection conducted today:
Handwash stations, including washrooms, were accessible, equipped with hot and cold running water, liquid soap and paper towel.
All refrigeration units (except for the server cooler) were at 4.0C or below.
All freezer units were at -18.0C or below.
Food stored protected and in the proper storage hierarchy.
Soup was being hot held at 60.0C.
Sanitizer spray bottles were available throughout the food preparation area. 200 - 400 PPM QUAT detected from the spray bottles.
High temperature dish machine was able to reach 75.3C at the plate level during the rinse cycle.
Drain plug is available for the 2-compartment sink in unit 102.
Food contact items (meat slicer, kitchen tools - spatulas, cutting boards, etc) were noted sanitary and in good condition.
No signs of pest activities noted during the inspection.
Operator has a valid FOODSAFE level 1 equivalent certificate.
Reviewed updated Food Safety Plan with the operator.
