Observation: Observations:
1) Back storage room is unorganized and contains clutter.
2) Handsink at the front area is unsanitary.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Organize and clean the back storage area immediately
2) Clean the handsink in order maintain a sanitary and useable

308 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces are not in good working order [s. 16(b)]
Observation: Main walk-in cooler is not currently working. All perishable items had already been moved to a working cooler. The cooler only contains shelf stable items such as pop.
Corrective Action(s): Have cooler fixed as soon as possible to allow for storage space for perishable items.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: Hot holding unit is placed at front of store. There is food crumbs inside and operator explains that they hot hold samosas inside. This premises is not approved for hot holding as it is a Food Store.
Corrective Action(s): Remove all hot holding units immediately, as they are not approved.

Comments

-Handwash station in backroom and staff washroom contains liquid soap, paper towels, and hot/cold running water.
- Freezer units are in working order and maintain -18C
-Main walk-in cooler is not working as mentioned above. No perishables are stored in there. The other coolers are in working condition at 4C or less.
-Main premises is maintained in a sanitary manner.
- No signs of pest activity

Note: facility is planning to share premises with fedex/mail service and "e-cigarette" store. They are in contact with the city about that.
Note: One display cooler is not being used and will be removed. Ensure any equipment not being used is not stored at the premises.

Follow-up inspection will be conducted in 1 week regarding the issues noted.
