- Premises is a grocery store that sells prepackaged foods and drip coffee. No slushy machine noted on site at time of inspection. Noted a sign for sale of samosa.
- No samonsa on site at time of inspection. Operator provided invoice for Veggie Samonsa from Patna Sweets and Chat 102-2580 Cedar Park Place Abbotsford (approved food service establishment on Healthspace).
- Discussed how samosas are dispensed: Operator said he leaves samosas at room temperature for customers to take. This is not acceptable as samosas are potentially hazardous foods. Samosas should be kept either hot at 60C or higher or cold at 4C or lower. Operator said that he can purchase the samonsa cold from the supplier and leave them in the cooler unit beside the cash register (in the original supplier box) for customers to dispenser with a set of tongs. Operator to email picture of the set up once he gets the next order. Reminded operator to transport cold samosas under temperature control (ie. ice packs..etc) to maintain 4C or less.
- Hand wash station in the washroom had soap in a pump style dispenser, paper towel, hot and cold running water.
- Two compartment sink on site was fully accessible and had soap in a pump style dispenser, paper towel, hot and cold running water. Bottle of bleach, manual warewashing sign and two drain plugs available. Reviewed 4 step manual warewashing procedures for tongs and coffee urns. No concerns.
- All coolers 4C or less.
- Freezers -16C to -22C
- General sanitation satisfactory. No obvious signs of pest activity noted at time of inspection.
