Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the applicable Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance except for the facility's policies and procedures as there have not been any changes since the last routine inspection.

Observed Violations

No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated December 5, 2019 there were 10 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection no violations were identified therefore no action is required. As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The facility has had a few incidents of children experiencing gastrointestinal issues while in care. A reminder that to submit a reportable incident form to Licensing if there are 3 or more individuals who are experiencing the same illness. Staff have increased the amount of times that children are washing their hands and being diligent with washing and sanitizing the equipment and furnishings. The Licensing Officer left a few reportable incident report forms and a handout entitled "Incident Reporting in Child Care Facilities".
