Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed the following:
-In 3-5 room the sleeping mats were stacked together with the sheets,blankets and stuffed toys touching
-Fridge Temperature in I/T room is not maintained between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius
-Hot water temperature over 49 degrees in Preschool room. (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION)
Corrective Action(s): Ensure that healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under supervision

Comments

Summary of Inspection:
At the inspection dated February 7, 2023 there were 40 children and 10 staff present. Licensing met with the manager. At this inspection, above noted contraventions were identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

Repayment Agreements in Child Care Facilities.
Remove all the wipes with DIN # from all the first aid kits
Refreshing of the bark mulch in the outdoor play area.
