Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No paper towel available at bar handsink.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all handsinks are supplied with hot & cold water, liquid soap and paper towel.
Since assembly of food is conducted at bar it must have a fully supplied handsink.

Observation: Manager no longer has a valid FOODSAFE Lv.1 certificate.
One other receptionist has FOODSAFE Lv. 1 certificate on staff (not at time of inspection)
Corrective Action(s): Ensure at least 1 staff person per shift has a valid FOODSAFE Lv.1 certificate when food is offered to customers. If no staff on a shift has a valid certificate then no food can be served to customers.

Once staff are certified keep a copy of certificate on-site.
Managers must complete FOODSAFE Lv. 1 and submit copy of certificate to EHO.

Comments

Routine:

-General sanitation was satisfactory
-Hot and cold running water available
-Bar cooler no longer in use - turned off during inspection
-Back chest freezer was at -16 C - no longer in use
-High temp dishwasher noted 71 C - used for water jugs. All other dishware is single use disposable
-Bleach sanitizer present in spray bottle for sanitizing food contact surfaces.

-Veggies & dip, assorted nuts assembled at back bar (near handsink) and served.
-Smoothies are no longer served on-site.
-Currently, food is being supplied by local restaurants and cold stored in front cooler at 4 C

-No signs of pest issues at the time of the inspection.
-Health permit not posted - noted at bar during inspection. Manager will place new decal on permit and re-frame permit and post at front reception desk.

***Prior to making any changes to premises or foods served, contact Fraser Health for approval.

Note:
-Manager is looking for display cooler to replace current counter cooler unit at front dining area
-Manager inquired about addition of pre-packaged ice cream and new freezer unit - no concerns at this time. Send photo and email to EHO once unit is purchased and pre-packaged ice cream is available.
