STAFFING: 12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and one staff did not have a current validation for their ECE.

STAFFING: 12280 - CCLR s.34(4)(a) - Despite this section, during the half hour before a care program begins and the half hour after a care program ends, a licensee may permit children who would otherwise be grouped in different care programs, and who are arriving at or leaving the community care facility, to be grouped together and supervised other than as required under Schedule E if (a) the care program is described as Multi-Age Child Care, Group Child Care (Under 36 Months), Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age).
Observation:
It was identified that only 2 programs would combine in the morning (30 months to school age and toddler programs). The infant room would also be opened and operating on their own during this time. Licensing advised that all programs will need to combine for no more than half an hour (no more than 8 children and 3 children under 3) in order to apply this section.
Corrective Action(s): Please advise on new plan for opening and closing schedule.
