Introduction

An unscheduled follow up inspection was conducted to assess contraventions noted on routine inspection #WBET-CVLRZ7 dated September 12, 2023.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: A valid criminal record check is not available for one staff member. The manager stated this had been applied for a week ago but the results have not been received.
Corrective Action(s): A valid criminal record check must be available for all staff when the commence work.

Comments

At this inspection dated September 25, 2023 there were ten children and three staff present.

See contraventions section for outstanding contravention.
On routine inspection #WBET-CVLRZ7 section 37(3)(b) CCLR was contravened. During a subsequent conversation with the SFU Program Supervisor it was found that this section of the regulation was contravened in error and that the facility was in compliance with this section of the legislation.

The following were discussed:
Ensuring all taps are flushed for 10 minutes to mitigate the risk of lead in the water and to allow cold water to reach the taps.
