Routine inspection conducted. Services provided: Tanning / red light therapy *Note* Room 4 occupied at time of inspection *Note* Maintenance room (disinfectant dispenser) located in women's change room. In use at time of inspection. Devices: Room 1 - 3: Upright tanning unit (Sunrise 6200 Sunlight) Room 4 - 5: Tanning bed (Affinity 700 Advantage) Room 6: Red light therapy (Beauty Angel 7200 Total Body Enhancement) Safety eye glasses available for purchase by each client; no reused items. All units have emergency off button. Units turned on by front desk. Health Canada issued age restriction warning signage posted in each room. All beds were found in good condition. No signs of damage/cracks observed on the bulbs. Bulbs changed only when burnt out, or visibly dim Manager stated tanning beds are serviced by Planet Fitness maintenance department. This department tracks hours used (300 hours). Pre-screening protocol in place to verify age of the clients. Sanitation QUATS based Virex II 256 disinfectant present in each room and used to disinfect the tanning beds after each client use. Both clients and staff will disinfect. Handwash sink present and had adequate supply of hot and cold running water, liquid soap and single use paper towels. Please contact your district EHO if you have any questions or concerns.
