Introduction

An unscheduled follow-up inspection was conducted to ensure compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSOP).
Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

Observed Violations
HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: 15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation: Licensing observed the Licensee provide food to the children without washing hands prior to eating. A discussion was had with the Licensee about proper hand washing to reduce the spread of illness.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the rules of health and hygiene are practiced.

Comments

Licensing received a written plan from the Licensee on how she will address the dog waste in the back play area. Licensing noticed that the Licensee is not following this plan. Please submit to Licensing a plan that will be implemented by the Licensee.

The Licensee had a copy of criminal record check application for 2 persons who live on the premise. The Licensee will re-submit the forms using the information provided in the criminal records bulletin and send evidence to the Licensing Officer by July 6, 2018 that the forms have been submitted. Please contact the Licensing Office at 604-949-7700 for the access code to complete the forms online or go to the Licensing Office to complete the forms in person.
