Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DoLSoP). All categories of care were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation: licensing reviewed 4 staff files and one staff file was missing a record of immunization.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all staff files are complete.

Comments

At the inspection dated January 30, 2025 there were 16 children and 4 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The licensee is required to address the contravention, bring the facility into compliance, and provide a written response to Licensing by the date written below. Licensing will review the response.

As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

The following was discussed:
· Storage of emergency supplies and the practice of emergency evacuation with the emergency supplies.
· Keeping records as per Section 60 of CCLR
