Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: Upon inspection, Licensing observed many areas of the facility had exposed gyprock. The Licensee explained she is aware of this and has a plan to paint the facility.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the furniture, equipment and fixtures within the community care facility are clean and good repair.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 19, 2023 there were 7 children 2 staff, and The Licensee present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee/Manager to provide Licensing with a written response with actions taken to bring facility into compliance. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool will be completed and a copy will be provided.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Follow manufacture instruction when using high chairs
· Appropriate use of outdoor play equipment
