Introduction

A routine inspection was conducted today to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Child Care Licensing Regulationand the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. Evidence for this report was based on the writer's observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
Licensing Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and Supervision
Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
Medication
Nutrition and Food Services
Program
Records and Reporting.

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The risk assessment includes any violations identified during the routine inspection, and a 3 year 'historical' review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

The Licensee and staff were present with 3 children at the time of the inspection. All areas reviewed were found in compliance with the legislative requirements. The Licensee is aware of the expiry dates for the staffs documentation such as first aid and criminal record clearance letters; there have not been any changes to the staffing at this facility.

The writer left with the Licensee an 'immunization' poster in conjunction with the public health nurse's immunization campaign.
