Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Observed can opener to be in unsanitary condition. Regular cleaning of utensils should be performed to ensure that contamination is prevented.
Corrective Action(s): Required operator to use bleach sanitizer to clean and sanitize the the can opener. Can opener should be cleaned at least daily.

302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon entry, operator did not have bleach sanitizer ready. When inquired, operator explained that the store was just opened and was about to prepare sanitizer.
Corrective Action(s): Required operator to prepare bleach sanitizer and have it prepared first thing in the morning when they open. Upon request, operator prepared bleach sanitizer at the time of inspection

401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand washing station beside three compartment sink was obstructed by a garbage bin, had items in the sink. The sink was not available for use at the time of inspection
Corrective Action(s): Required operator to have remove all obstructions and items. Educated operator that all hand washing stations must be available for use at any given point.

Observation: Observed light bulb in the walk-in cooler did not have an appropriate cover in case it shatters. Bulb covers protect food items from physical contamination in case bulbs shatter.
Corrective Action(s): Required operator to provide an adequate cover for light bulb in the walk-in cooler

Overall sanitation is satisfactory
Hand washing stations stocked with liquid soap and paper towel
Hot and cold running water available at all sinks
All coolers at 4 C or lower; all freezers at -18 C or lower
Walk-in cooler organized; all items covered.
Two rice cookers on site at warming mode; both at 60 C or higher
Hot holding units for meat products at 60 C or higher
Three compartment sink available for use for manual warewashing. When inquired, operator explained three step process: wash, rinse then sanitize. Sanitization done with bleach at 200 ppm.
Discussed cleaning and sanitizing of utensils such as tongs and shaving knives. Operator explained that these utensils are cleaned and sanitized at least every 4 hours. Explained that more frequent cleaning/sanitizing is recommended.
Operator performed second cook step prior to hot holding meats.
Discussed leftover donair; they get wrapped and put them in the freezer. Ensure to only re-use once. Once re-used, all items must be discarded.
Staff working on site had FoodSafe Level 1 Certificate
No sign of pests noted at the time of inspection
